Myria Jean Warren

Myria Jean Warren, age 86 of Belle Fourche, died Monday, December 9, 2024 at Garden Hills Assisted Living in Spearfish.

Visitation will take place from 5 -7 pm Friday, December 13, 2024 at Leverington Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche. Inurnment will be held 9:30am, Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis.

Myria Jean Kinney was born on December 15, 1937 in Lead, SD. She was the daughter of Charles and Louise Kinney. Myria graduated from Lead High School in 1955. She married Harold Warren on November 24, 1962. To this union she brought three children Edward, Timothy and Debbie and 4 years later Luaine, Vanessa, and Guss (Harold, Jr.) joined making a total of six children. Following their marriage Myria was able to be a stay at home mom until 1975 when Harold passed away. Myria went back to college to get her degree in bookkeeping while raising 6 kids and working at the Napa store as a bookkeeper. She graduated from Black Hills State College. 

One of Myria’s love and passion in life was playing pool. Since 1976 Myria made it her goal to attend the International VNEA pool tournament held every May in Las Vegas as she was bound and determined to win a cougar trophy. She accomplished this goal in 2004 only for the trophy to be stolen out of the trophy case in Las Vegas. Myria was inducted into the SDABA Hall of Fame in 2014 and in 2021 at the age of 82 Myria was inducted into the South Dakota VNEA Pool Hall of Fame.

Myria is survived by her six children, Edward (Robin) Warren of Fulton, NY, Timothy Warren of Belle Fourche, Debbie (Jimmy) Corean of Spearfish, Luaine (Alan) Shaykett of Nisland, Vanessa (Barry) Ellis of Shippensburg, PA, and Guss Warren of Belle Fourche, Sister, Monica Eisenbraun of St. Onge, Brother, Michael Kinney as well as 23 grandchildren, and 27 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Myria was preceded in death by her parents, husband; sisters, Silver Shoop, Marciada Williams, and brother, Charles Kinney, Jr.
